Welcome to Saint Anne Parish, Ruskin, Florida

Our New Church At Saint Anne

The Office of the Bishop has announced the Dedication of the new church on February 14th at 4:30pm. Please mark this in your calendar. On Tuesday, Fr. John Tapp, Doug Reatini and Kathy Proefke from the Diocese Office of Worship met with the entire parish staff and the Dedication committee to prepare for this wonderful event. The members of the Office of Worship emphasized it will take a lot of planning and organization. When the church is dedicated it will be the first time that the Eucharist will be celebrated. It will then become a sacred place of worship and not just a building as it is now. It is like a new birth for the building.

Another challenged was completed in building the new church
      for Saint Anne parish.

Update on the Church (08/17/08):

On Tuesday August 12th as we started the new novena to Saint Anne, the base of the cupola was put in place. By the end of September the final part will be in place. I visited the artists André & Knapp in Valrico to see the outline of the new altar, the ambo and the tabernacle table. It is exciting to see all these being created and worked on.

This week in front of the altar is our new bronze Baptismal Font gifted by Bill Richards and family in memory of his wife Elaine Richards. This arrived from Italy.

The monstrance arrived from Poland and the generous donor wishes to be anonymous. There are many more memorial gifts needed especially the pews. A special book is available after mass and in the office if you are interested.

TECO is marking and preparing the new lights for the parking lot. They should be finished by mid September. The front parking lot will be prepared for paving and hopefully ready to be a car park again by the fall festival. Our builder, David Hermann told me Sunday December 21st is still good for the dedication of the new church, so we can celebrate Christmas together in the new church, as one family. More details will be given as we come closer to that time.

If you have not done so already, we ask that you prayerfully consider a sacrificial pledge to this campaign. God gives every one of us an abundance of resources and skills to manage in the form of our time, talent and treasures. Reflect on these gifts in your life – your family, career, home, security, and faith - and let us remember we receive these gifts with love and gratitude to return to the Lord an appropriate share of your First Fruits. And as you consider your sacrificial participation in our campaign, we ask that you consider a special gift in celebration. I am confident that each of you, grateful for the gifts you have from God, will do all that is in your power to make this endeavor a success.

Parishioners of Saint Anne have faced all challenges head-on and with great faith and commitment. As we mature and grow, we face some needs that we now seek to address proactively in order to place our parish in a position to continue and grow and serve our Lord. Our goal has always been the sharing of our talents, imagination, creativity, energy, and support.

Saint Anne continues to make significant contributions both to our Catholic community and to the Ruskin, Apollo Beach, Sun City, and Riverview areas. We are empowered by God’s love and do His work through parish ministries that serve our parish family, its children and the community at-large. Most of these groups use our facilities to assist them in their call to teach, nurture, and serve. The active schedules of parish groups assure a constant high and ever-increasing demand for space for meetings and gatherings.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Father John
